Marina del Rey's Mother's Beach features a large public swimming beach and a sheltered lagoon for boating and windsurfing. There is also a swimming ramp specially built for wheelchairs. With picnic shelters and County lifeguards on hand, Mother’s Beach is a great place to take the family for an afternoon in the sun. A 21-mile paved path that traces the Pacific shoreline past Marina del Rey is a popular attraction for local residents who enjoy bicycling and skating. Marina del Rey's central location also makes it convenient to nearly everything in the Los Angeles area. Freeways are only minutes away, providing access to such attractions as Universal Studios, the J. Paul Getty Museum, Beverly Hills, Venice Beach and Santa Monica. Within an hour’s drive are Knott's Berry Farm and Disneyland. The drive to LAX, the world's fourth busiest airport based on number of passengers, is a quick 10 minutes.
